We would like to leave Beijing on May 31 and return to Beijing on June 9, 2008 because we must leave for the U.S. on June 11.

We want to have the maximum time in Tibet so we thought we should probably fly to Lanzhou and take the train from there. What do you think? It would be interesting to take the train all the way from Beijing but we took this trip to Lanzhou earlier. We don't know whether to fly from Llasa back to Beijing or take the train back to Lanzhou (or Glommed?) and fly back to Beijing from one of these places. What do you suggest?

We want to see as many monasteries as possible while we are there. We are accustomed to budget accommodations and using the public transport. We have traveled throughout China but we don't speak Chinese.

Do you know if we can get some medication called Diamox which is used to prevent high altitude sickness? We have heard that we can get this in China.

Please let us know what additional information you need in order to help us plan to visit Tibet.
