本文以徐州市区1987年和2000年2期TM/ETM+影像为主要数据源，采用ERDAS IMAGINE 8.6、ArcGIS 9.0和景观结构分析软件FRAGSTATS 3.3，对徐州市区1987年和2000年的景观格局进行对比分析。主要的研究结果如下：
从1987年到2000年，耕地景观、建设用地景观和林地景观等景观要素格局存在比较明显的变化，出现了此消彼长的局面，表现为建设用地景观进一步扩大并且更加规则成片，2000年的建设用地景观面积是1987年的2倍多；而耕地景观、林地景观和其他土地景观在景观中正在减小和破碎，2000年的耕地面积比1987年的耕地面积减少了7595 hm²，而2000年的林地面积则比1987年时减少了675hm²。
