5. Experimental results
In the case of strong hysteresis (figure 10), experimental

6. Conclusion
A laser displacement sensor using self-mixing interference
in a laser diode has been designed for law of motion
measurements. A principle of linearity is proposed to
interpret the sawtooth-like optical power variations. With
such signal processing, a resolution of =12 has been
obtained for displacements up to several micrometres even
in the case of hysteresis.
